If the virginity of Mary is not believed how will it effect the Catholic Church?

I recall in debates ive read about that the original manuscript of Isaiah never referred to Mary as a virgin [as in] a untouched women, but as a young woman. If the idea that she was nothing more then a mere [young women] became church dogma. How will it effect the Catholic Church?
