Recovery For Rod Removal?

I have a rod in my femur (because of a compound fracture) with a couple of plates and 3 screws, im not over weight or anything. And may need to get it all taken out later this year, so i was just wondering what is the recovery time for this type of surgery ect will i have to be on crutches i just wwant to know as much information as possible
