What episode of the vampire diaries is this?

I'm trying to remember a certain episode of the vampire diaries. I just remember Damon and Elena standing in a forrest, I think it's raining, and he sort of grabs her head and maybe says something about not being able to protect her but that might be a different episode that I'm thinking of. Any help would be appreciated.
